Started in 1881 as the Northamptonshire Productive Society, Solovair is a true icon of the British shoemaking industry. Founded as a co-operative, meaning the workers owned the business, the company quickly secured an order to supply boots to the British army. Over the following decades, NPS built an enviable reputation for making elegant yet sturdy footwear. And in 1960, the first “sole of air” shoes stepped off the factory floor.

This season, we have created four styles that perfectly encapsulate Solovair’s craftsmanship and technology combined with YMC’s signature style.

For men and women, there is a chunky buckle Monk shoe and the Dealer boot, which has a steel toe cap. For women, the strap-over Mary Jane is available in black and brown, while a contemporary men’s lace-up Gibson combines the styling of a hiking boot with a city shoe.
